All new volunteers are required to submit four references. One is your pastor, another is an employer, and then two personal (non-family) references. If you do not have an employment history, a third personal (non-family) reference is requested. Please have the name, address, phone number and email address for each reference available before you begin the application process.
All new volunteers are also required to complete an online application with includes authorizing CEF- Knoxville to run background check. Please allow 20-30 minutes for the application process.
Within a few days after submitting the volunteer application, you will receive an email with a link for submitting information for the background check.
All returning volunteers are required to complete an annual online recertification/information update process. This process is also an opportunity to update your personal information. You may do this as you progress through the recertification form.
Additionally, every five years, all volunteers are required to have their background check renewed. Your club coordinator will notify you if your background check needs to be renewed.
